Important Quilt Preparation

We understand the excitement of creating your perfect quilt and are here to ensure it turns out just as you envision it.

Quilt Top:

Please inspect your quilt top for open seams. Occasionally, we find that some seams are not completely sewn together. Please take the opportunity to correct this before you deliver your quilt top to us.

Quilt Back:

One crucial aspect often overlooked is the size of the quilt back.

To assure the best results, we require quilt backs to be 8 inches longer and wider than the quilt top. All quilt backs must be completely sewn together before dropping off your quilt with us.

Here’s why this guideline is essential:

  1. Proper Mounting: A larger quilt back provides ample fabric for mounting, ensuring it stays taut and flat throughout the quilting process. This prevents wrinkles, puckers, or distortion during quilting.
  2. Ease of Alignment: The extra fabric allows for easy alignment and adjustments, ensuring that both the quilt top and back are perfectly centered during quilting. This alignment is crucial for achieving a professional finish.
  3. Room for Tension: Quilting requires tension to keep the layers together securely. The additional 8 inches of fabric allow for the necessary tension without pulling or distorting the quilt top.

By adhering to this guideline, you are facilitating the quilting process to ensure the beauty and longevity of your finished quilt.

Thank you for following these guidelines. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
